Earl Guidry

Lafayette-Funeral services for Earl G. Guidry, 83, will be 2:00PM Wednesday July 13, 2016 in David Funeral Home of Lafayette. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00AM until service time at the funeral home.

Earl, a native of Cecelia and a resident of Lafayette passed away Saturday July 9, 2016 in his residence. He retired from Halliburton as a geologist after many years of service. He was a U.S. Naval veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and during his time there he was a lecturer and a minister of the Eucharist, as a lay person he belonged to the Franciscan Order. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, and crabbing. He loved to read books and in his later years he listened to them.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Erline Louviere Guidry of Lafayette; 6 children Lisa Guidry Perry and husband Duane of Lafayette, Debra Guidry Weisinger and husband Wesley of Conroe, TX, Linda Guidry Landry and husband Kevin, Mark Guidry, Robert Guidry, and Connie Guidry, all of Lafayette; 2 sisters, Betty Guidry Angelle, and Patricia Guidry Leger, 9 grandchildren, Brittany Perry, Brooke Perry, Bryna Perry, Tiffany Weisinger Ortiz, Megan Weisinger, Jentry Weisinger, Lacie Landry Talevich, Lexi Landry, and Katherine Guidry Marchese; 5 great grandchildren Royce Weisinger, Eli Talevich, Ava Claire Talevich, Kira Marchese, and Iris Marchese.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cleven and Bertha Granger Guidry.

Serving as his Pallbearers will be Mark Guidry, Robert Guidry, Duane Perry, Wesley Weisinger, Kevin Landry, and Royce Weisinger.
