Lois Laviolette Prosper

May 16, 1931 — July 11, 2016

New Iberia—A memorial service will be held for Lois L. Prosper, age 85, on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:30 AM at David Funeral Home Chapel  with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating.

Lois, being a kind and loving person, she donated her body to the Louisiana Anatomical Board for the advancement of medical research.

Visitation will begin at David Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 8:00 AM until the time of service. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 11:00 AM.

Lois retired from AT&T, where she worked for 31 years as an operator. She began her career in New Orleans afterwards transferring to New Iberia for the duration of her career. She was a Pioneer, regularly serving as a volunteer at the St. Francis Diner for 13 years and also the Tourist Center.  Lois was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. And also dedicated her time to the Ladies Alter Society, Wake Ministry, Rosary Group and the Birthday Club at Nativity Catholic Church.

Her family was her life and she lived for her family. She loved to make homemade candies for the church sweet sale always delivering the extras to her family and friends.

Lois is survived by her daughter Pam Prosper Bonin and husband Timothy of New Iberia; two grandsons, Bucky Bonin and wife Lauren of Broussard, Luke Bonin and wife Stephanie of Broussard; brothers George Loviolette and wife Sue of Lafayette, Raymond Laviolette and wife Joan of California and one sister, Lucy Toups of Baton Rouge; three great grandsons Brayden, Ethan and Austin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Prosper; her parents, George Laviolette, Sr. and Lena Theroit Laviolette and her sister, Verler Frederick.
