A native of Chauvin and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Morgan passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 6:03PM.
Never fearful of hard work, Mr. Morgan spent his adulthood working in the petroleum industry, most recently with Texas Petroleum Investments as an Operator in the oil field. Nothing in life brought him greater pleasure than the time spent with his loving wife of 12 years, Mrs. Karen G. Morgan, cooking an array of meals then inviting all that with an appetite through his continually open door to indulge in exquisite southern cuisine. The ultimate neighborhood gardener, Mr. Morgan would seize each opportunity to grow vegetables to be given away, or utilized in any of his wonderful meals. A gentleman of many talents and interests, Mr. Morgan thoroughly enjoyed having deep conversations with his best friend Dean Naquin, as well as spending irreplaceable time with his sister-in-laws Melissa Guidry and Ronda Caballero. There was no sport Mr. Morgan did not emphatically enjoy, from horse racing to badminton and everything in between.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 12 years, Mrs. Karen G. Morgan of Jeanerette; Daughter, Rebecca Morgan of Jonesboro, AR; Step-sons, Jarred Slaughter and wife Blake of New Iberia, Zachary Slaughter and significant other Emily Guillotte of New Iberia; Nephews, Dylan and Matthew Morgan of Reform, AL; Grandchildren, Brylee, Graham, Mason and Noah Slaughter all of New Iberia.
Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his Father, Clayton Arthur Morgan; Mother, Gladys Cormier, and his Brother, Stanford Scott Morgan.
Upholding the honor of Pallbearers are Jarred Slaughter, Zachary Slaughter, Cardell Jumonville, Sr., Dylan Morgan, Zane Guidry, and Raymond Jumonville, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Morgan, Dean Naquin, Freddie White and Eugene B.J. Ryman.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you, with the deepest gratitude, to Texas Petroleum Investment Company and his many wonderful co-workers.
