Allen Joseph Mckinley
May 17, 1949 — July 31, 2016
will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 5, 2016 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Barbara Landry as the celebrant. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of
Lafayette on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 12:00PM until 7:00PM. Visitation will resume
on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 8:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow
at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
A native of Watertown, New York and resident of Broussard, Mr. McKinley went to be with
the Lord Jesus at 5:49PM on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Mr.
Allen clearly understood the concept and driven attitude toward citizenship. Upon
graduating high school he entered the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his
country during the Vietnam War. This would be the precedence for a lifetime of servitude
for God and country. He retired with the Marine Corps after 22 years and continued
serving his country through numerous government agencies. Most recently he was employed
with P.S.C. Supply of Broussard. Mr. McKinley was a blessing to all who knew him. He
was a loving father, grandfather, brother and faithful husband who had a contagious joy
that followed him.
He is survived by his children, Bridgette Comeaux of Youngsville, Kelly Forbes of
Youngsville, Jeffery McKinley of Broussard, and Steve McKinley of Havlock, North
Carolina; a brother Richard McKinley of Rochester, New York, a sister Carolyn Larson of
Broussard; his precious grandchildren, Jayden and Jolie Comeaux, Kaileigh McKinney,
Shelbi Forbes and Karlie Forbes, Brendan McKinley, Kailynne McKinley, Andrew McKinley,
Michah McKinley, Isaiah McKinley, Liz McKinley, Timothy McKinley, and Hope McKinley.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years Karen Sue McKinley, his father
Bruce McKinley, his mother Agnes Hyde McKinley, a brother Robert McKinley.
Upholding the honor as pallbearers will be Jeffery Allen McKinley, Steven Paul McKinley,
Cory Forbes, Ryan Comeaux, David Forbes, and Robert Landry.
David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy. (337)-837-9887 will be handling
the arrangements.
