Billy Ray Derouen

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Billy Ray Derouen, 81 on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Fr. Mario Romero officiating. Burial will follow in the Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 18, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Friday, August 19, 2016, at 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM. A rosary prayed by the Men’s Rosary Group on Thursday at 7:00 PM

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Derouen passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 6:06 PM at his residence.

He retired as the Administrative Chief at the New Iberia Fire Department after 30 years of service. He then went to work at Musson – Patout Automotive for 18 years. He was an avid camper and belonged to the Cajun Road Runners Camping Club.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vivian Hebert Derouen of New Iberia; his sons, Billy Derouen, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Pineville, Mark James Derouen and his wife Pauline and Chad Francis Derouen and his wife Kristie all of New Iberia; his daughter, Natalie Ann Marcotte and her husband Keith of New Iberia; his sister, Betty Boyd and her husband Harper of Lake Charles; his sister-in-law, Mazel Derouen of Coteau; his grandchildren, Jake, Sara, Beau, Ashley, Erica, Chad Derouen, Jr., Kristen, Chandler, Addiekay Marcotte, Shea Simon and Shailey Landry and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by is father, Cletus “Coco” Derouen; his mother, Lillian Broussard Derouen; his son, Dale Raymond Derouen and his brother, Kenneth Derouen.

Pallbearers will be Billy Derouen, Jr., Mark Derouen, Chad Derouen, Beau Derouen, Chad Derouen, Jr., Chandler Marcotte and Keith Marcotte.

The family would like to thank Bridgeway Hospice and Staff, Gary, Alyson and Debbie and his caregivers, Brenda and Clothile.
