Druella "Dru" Marie Bourque Leonard

Jeanerette - Graveside Services will be conducted for Mrs. Druella Marie “Dru” Bourque Leonard, 67, at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at St. John Cemetery in Jeanerette with Deacon Theo Landry officiating.

A native of Iberia Parish, longtime resident of Jeanerette, and longtime employee of Jeanerette Mills, Mrs. Leonard died Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 6:44 PM at Iberia Medical Center.

She enjoyed French music, dancing, and going to the casino with her friends and family. Family described her as a joy to be around, and a true blessing to all that knew her. She was also described as someone who would give the shirt off of her back to anyone in need.

She is survived by her son, Craig A. Leonard and Donna Benoit of New Iberia; sisters, Noeline Pichoff of Harvey, Brenda Garb and husband Samuel of Loreauville, Shelia Rodrigue and husband Herbert of Jeanerette; brothers, Charles Bourque of New Orleans, Danny Bourque Sr. and wife Judy of Coteau, Benny Bourque and wife Sue of New Iberia, Clint Bourque Sr. and wife Wendy of Jeanerette, Glenn Bourque Sr. and wife Vickie of New Iberia; granddaughter, Lauren Broussard; great-grandson Bentley Nguyen of Catahoula and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Blaine J. Leonard; her parents, Barnabe Bourque and Sidonia Tremble Bourque; sister, Janice Bourque; brother, Eugene J. Bourque; ex-husband Freddy P. Leonard Jr. and brother-in-law, Larry Pichoff.

Pallbearers will be Clint Bourque Sr., Glenn Bourque Sr., Matthew Bourque, Justin Bourque, Herbert Rodrigue and Brock Rodrigue.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Garb, Clint Bourque Jr., Jeremy Bourque, and Jared Bourque.

A special song will be provided by Brock Rodrigue.

On behalf of the Bourque family, we would like to issue a special thanks to the staff at Maison Teche Nursing home and Iberia Medical Center for providing excellent care. Donations will also be accepted at David Funeral Home during services.
