Coteau—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Dorothy R. Romero, age 82,  on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 1:30 PM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor with Fr. Brian Harrington officiating . Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 8:00 AM to the time of service.

Dorothy Romero passed away on Thursday, September 01, 2016, at 5:30 AM at her residence in Coteau.

She enjoyed babysitting all of her grand and great-grandchildren, cooking and just spending time with all of her family.

Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her three daughters; Peggy R. Fitch and her husband Claude of Coteau, Barbara R. Babineaux and her husband Terry of New Iberia, and Pasty Romero of Coteau, grandchildren; Colby J. Fitch and his wife Ashlyn of Spring, Tx, Marcus J. Babineaux and his wife Shawntelle of Loreauville and Misti B. Thorne and her husband Ryan of New Iberia, great grandchildren; Taylore Babineaux, Darryon Babineaux, Peyton Babineaux, Lawren Thorne, Hanah Thorne, Grace Fitch and Lexi Goinzales , her brother; Dalton Romero of Youngsville and her sister, Thelma R. Broussard of Coteau.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roy John Romero, parents Odressie Romero and the former Edith Touchet Romero Racca, her brother Raymond Romero and her sister Norma R. Rouly .

Holding the honor of pallbearers will be Marcus Babineaux, Claude Fitch, Darryon Babineaux, Colby Fitch, Terry Babineaux, and Ryan Thorne.
