Mabel Delcambre Bodin

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Mabel Delcambre Bodin, 96, on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Father Nathan Comeaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Mausoleum.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home at 1101 Trotter St. in New Iberia on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary prayed in the funeral home at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia beginning at 8:00 AM until the service time at 10:00 AM.

A native of Weeks Island, resident of Abbeville and a former resident of Lydia, Mrs. Bodin passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 11:16 AM at Abbeville General Hospital.

She retired from Morton Salt as a Secretary for 40 + years. She was a devout Catholic who loved her rosary and was a Parishioner at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia. She was a religion class teacher, served as Secretary of the PTA, Save Our Coast and her Bowling League. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary Post 365 of Jeanerette.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth J. Bodin and his wife Glenda of Delcambre; her daughter, Chris B. Broussard of Lydia; her grandchildren, Chad K. Bodin and his wife Carissa of Youngsville, D’Shane Landry, Chuckie Landry both of Delcambre, Tracy Boudreaux of Lydia, Lesli Boudreaux of Denham Springs, Renee’ Legendre and her husband Scott of New Iberia and Todd Boudreaux of Lydia and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Darrel Joseph Bodin; her father, Clomere Delcambre; her mother, Naomi Broussard Delcambre and her sisters, Mae Delcambre, Marie Barrilleaux, Anna Mae Dore, Eunice Jolet and Mathilde Jolet.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Bodin, Chad Bodin, Todd Boudreaux, Eric Boudreaux, Ryan Boudreaux and Beau Boudreaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chuckie Landry, Tracy Boudreaux, Scott Legendre and Dudley Gros.
