Joseph Sellers, Sr.

Lafayette – Funeral services for Joseph Sellers Sr.,86, will be held Monday September 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, with Deacon Cody Miller permanent Deacon of St. Joseph officiating.

Visitation will be held Sunday September 18, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM, and will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Sellers was a native of Abbeville and a resident of Lafayette; a veteran of the US Army, he passed away Thursday September 15, 2016 at Lafayette General Hospital. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time in his garden.

Survivors include his six sons Oran and his wife Charleen Sellers of Broussard, Keith Sellers of Butte La Rose, Anthony Sellers Sr. of Lafayette, Joseph Jr. and his wife Susan Sellers of Milton, David and his wife Tina Sellers of McMurry, PA, and Paul Sellers of Lafayette; three daughters Wanda Jo and her husband Kim LeBlanc of Scott, Zelda Gautreaux of Lafayette, and Linda and her husband Troy Tacorchick of Rayne fifteen grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren. Joseph is also survived by his brother Claude Sellers of Youngsville.

He was preceded in death by his wife Willa Mae Baudoin Sellers; his grandson Anthony Sellers Jr.; his parents Alex and Anaise Bourque Sellers; one brother John Sidney Sellers and his son in law Richard Kidder.

Serving as pallbearers will be his five grandsons Jamen, Jarrod, Joshua, and Zackary Sellers, Alex Duke, and his Godchild John Sellers. Honorary pallbearers will be his ten granddaughters Sara, Patricia, Amy, Annie, Erika, and Stephanie Sellers, Bobbie McFarlin, April Touchet, Amanda Thomas, and Jamie McMillen.
