Erath - Private services for Erath Police Chief Gerald Hebert, 59, were Monday September 19, 2016.

He passed away Sunday September 18, 2016 in Erath.

Police Chief Hebert was currently serving his third term and had tremendous respect for the people of Erath and an enormous passion for the law. He considered his police officers as part of his family.

He is survived by his children , Shane Hebert, Jan Suttoon, and Shaun Hebert all of Erath; his former wife Mary Hebert of Erath; eight sisters and three brothers; his grandchildren Andre Babin, Trynidi Hebert, Hayden Hebert, Kynnedi Hebert and Journie Hebert.

He is preceded in death by his parents Helaire and Enola Guillot Hebert; one brother and two sisters.
