New Iberia – Mr. John Patrick “Pat” O’Quinn Jr., age 71, died on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 9:50 AM. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife and best friend for 24 years, Mrs. Marguerite Thibaux Liner O’Quinn; his two sons, Jack O’Quinn and Timothy O’Quinn; and daughter Katherine O’Quinn Stelly; step-children, Leah Liner Pinell and Jeffrey Liner; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pat also leaves behind two siblings; Michael O’Quinn and Bonnie Bertrand Born in Abbeville, LA on January 25, 1945 from the union of Mr. John Patrick. O’Quinn Sr. and the former Miss Ellen Claire Holzwarth. Mr. O’Quinn graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, TN. Through the years he remained active in his community. He was a member of the Franklin Jaycees; the Lions Club of Franklin and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Mr. O’Quinn also volunteered for St. Francis Diner where he repaired computers for resale. Retired for over 20 years from the oil and gas industry, together he and Marguerite taught French Cajun dance lessons. Always the entertainer, Mr. O’Quinn especially enjoyed playing the accordion for those around. He never limited himself to a specific type of music as Mr. O’Quinn loved music of all kinds, yet he held no greater love than the love for his family. Mr. O’Quinn was preceded in death by his father, John Patrick O’Quinn Sr.; mother, Ellen C. Holzwarth O’Quinn; brother, James O’Quinn and sister, Doris O'Quinn Johns. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of New Iberia Manor South for the compassionate and loving care he was given. There will be no Funeral nor Memorial Services held.
