Dolores Marie Oubre Dooley

Loreauville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Dolores Marie Oubre Dooley, age 91, on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Paul Onugebe to serve as the Celebrant with musical accompaniment by Mrs. Dooley’s grandson, Gannon Dooley. Reading from scripture will be Lauren Dooley and Claire Dooley. Giftbearers will be Lacy Dooley, Neely Duplantis, and Meghan Dauterive. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 4:00PM until 8:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM by the Men’s Rosary Group. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 8:00AM until service time.

A native and live long resident of Loreauville Mrs. Dooley passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 2:30PM at a local assisted living facility.  As a lifelong homemaker, Mrs. Dooley took great pride in caring for her family.  Whether she was cooking, cleaning house, or even shining the occasional shoe, her love for her family was always evident.  Mrs. Dooley enjoy dancing and visiting with friends.  As a gracious host, she would often have her friends over and considered the camaraderie of friends and family important; along with her faith.

Mrs. Dooley was a Parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and taught Catechism for many years at St. Joseph.  She would hold Sunday dinner after Mass and made sure everyone was fed.  Her faith in the Lord and undying devotion to her family will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all that knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Darlene Dooley of Avery Island, Terry William Dooley and wife Kay of Loreauville, Danny Jude Dooley and wife Mae of New Iberia, Grandchildren, Suzy Duplantis, Gannon Dooley, Cory Dauterive, Ashley Derouen, Lauren Dooley, Lacy Dooley, Jordy Louviere; Step Grandchildren, Aubrey and Jeremy Bourque; 9 Great Grandchildren; and one Sister-in-law, Aline Oubre of Loreauville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dooley; Father, Fernand Oubre; Mother, Lota Marie Broussard Oubre; Brother, Curry Edgar Oubre, Sr; and Sister, Sybil Marie Oubre Mullican.

Upholding the honor of Pallbearers are Cory Dauterive, Danny Duplantis, Coy Duplantis, Chris Derouen, Grant Derouen, Ed Oubre.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Aidan Dooley, Trevor Dooley, Parker Dauterive, and Carter Derouen.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Dooley’s caregivers; Carolyn Francis, Rita Johnson, and Carla Lewis as well as the administration and staff of Azalea Estates for all of their care and compassion.
