New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia with Father Ed Degeyter serving as officiant.  Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 8:00 AM until service time.

A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Laverne was by nature a nurturing caregiver, whose heart had no limits or boundaries when meeting others.  Fondly known by many as “Aunt Bee”, she had a special way with children and never met a stranger.  An avid parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, she held deeply rooted Christian values even as her health faded.  Mrs. Laverne loved living life to the fullest, anything from playing pokeno, bingo, camping to watching western movies.  Most of all simply being near her family and grandchildren brought the greatest pleasure.

Left behind to treasure her life and legacy is her husband of 40 years, Mr. Bryan Anthony Boutte; daughter, Heather Marie Boutte Morvant and husband Warren; son, Jeffrey Paul Boutte; Grandchildren, Blaze, Payton and Braylon Morvant all of New Iberia; Sisters, Margaret LeBlanc and husband Robert Jr. of St. Martinville, Terry Boudreaux and husband Perry of Youngsville, Samantha Bridges and husband Peter of New Iberia, and Tiffany Girouard and husband Kurt of New Iberia; and her loving dog, Sparky.  She has 12 very special nieces and nephews; 20 Great nieces and nephews and one Great-great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Leverness Paul Broussard; mother, Mrs. Irene Bonin Broussard; and Grandson, Brennon Morvant, all of New Iberia.

Upholding the honor of Pallbearer will be Randy Vice, Jr., Peter Bridges, Kurt Girouard, Kevin Boutte, Jeffrey Boutte, Robert LeBlanc, Jr., Warren Morvant, and Jacob Primeaux.  Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Blaze Morvant, Payton Morvant, Braylon Morvant,  Troy Boutte and Alan Dautreuil.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks for all her compassionate care received from  Dr. G.D. Sagera and staff, Dr. Charles Wendling and staff of Lourdes Oncology, and Hearts of Hospice nurses and aides.

David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, (337) 369-6336, is in charge of arrangements.
