Betty Eskind

Jeanerette – Funeral services will be conducted for Betty Migues Eskind, 78, on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 1:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at 8:00 AM until the service time. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 PM.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Eskind passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at 1:20 PM. She loved cooking, gardening and crocheting and especially loved her family.

She is survived by her son, Chris Eskind, Sr. and his wife Lydia of Tampa, FL; her daughters, Michelle Eskind Neef and her husband Thomas of Scott and Patricia Hazell and her companion Larry Leger of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Chris Eskind, Jr., Katlyn Eskind and her fiance’ Cris Villireal, Thomas “Ty” Neef, Jaren Neef, Megan Neef, Jake Neef, Nathan Hazell and his wife Jennifer, Nicole Hazell and Brad Hazell and his wife Mary and her great grandchildren, Adam Hazell, Gabriel Hazell, Roman Hazell and Noemie Hazell.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Joseph Eskind; her parents, Eli Migues and Noemie LeBlanc Migues; her brothers, Clifford Migues, Lemine Migues, Rilius Migues, Eddie Migues and Gilbert Migues and her sisters, Irene Gaithier and Violet Costansa.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Eskind, Jr., Thomas Neef, Jaren Neef, Jake Neef, Adam Hazell, Gabriel Hazell, Nathan Hazell and Brad Hazell.

The family would like to thank Iberia Extended Care Hospital for the care given to Mrs. Eskind.
