Grace Maturin

Coteau – Funeral Services will be conducted for Grace Duhon Maturin, 79, on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Father Brian Harrington officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 14, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 8:00 AM until 12:15 PM. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Monday by the Men’s Rosary Group at 7:00 PM.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Coteau, Mrs. Maturin passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016, at 6:45 AM at Iberia Medical Center.

She loved fishing, sewing, baking and especially loved her family.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Curley A. Maturin of Coteau; her daughters, Judy Schexnayder of New Iberia, Patsy Maturin of West Plains, MO, Nancy Romero and her husband Johnny of Coteau and Gail Hebert and her husband Dalton of Abbeville; her sons, James Maturin and his wife Marilyn of New Iberia, Bobby J. Maturin and his wife Bobbie of Loreauville and Donald Maturin and his wife Cherry of Coteau; her sister, Effie Romero and her husband Junius of Coteau; her sister-in-law’s, Joseline Duhon of Lafayette, Carolyn Duhon of Moss Bluff and Lorraine Duhon of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Eugene Schexnayder and his wife Dawn, Neil Schexnayder and his wife Saunie, Katie Mitchell and her husband James, III, Thomas Frederick, Jr., Dewana Hawkins and her husband Randy, Devlin Frederick and his wife Wendy, Ryan Romero, Brandi Romero, Rochelle Bourque and her husband Lynn, Kristin Hebert, Brittany Hebert, Nicholas Hebert, Nicole Maturin, Jammie Maturin, Francis Maturin, Travis Maturin and his wife Angie, Chantell L. Mestayer and her husband Kyle, Bailey Hebert, Jesse Maturin, Dustin Maturin, Ashley Maturin, Lyssa Billiot and Jessica Maturin; forty-two great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Essie Duhon and Eronique Hulin Duhon; her sisters, Mabel Romero and Susie Richard; her brothers, Lawrence Duhon, Newton Duhon, Gerald Duhon, Minos Duhon, Clarence Duhon and Dalton Duhon andher grandson, Jeremy James Maturin.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Hebert, Tristin Smith, Haidan LeFevre, Cameron Romero, Neil Schexnayder, Ryan Romero, James Mitchell and Francis Maturin.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Maturin, Bobby Maturin, Donald Maturin, Johnny Romero, Bailey Bourque and Dalton Hebert.
