Ruth Evans Sawyer

Jeanerette- A service celebrating and honoring the life of Mrs.Ruth Evans Sawyer, age 80, will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday, November  29, 2016 at David Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 9:00AM until the time of services. The Sawyer Family would like to extend the invitation to family and friends to join them before the services in remembrance of Mrs. Sawyer.

Ruth passed away November 24, at her daughter’s home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Filmore, Oklahoma on October 5, 1936. She married the love of her life, Donald W. Sawyer and was his best friend for 50 years.

She loved gardening, attending to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities and socializing with the ladies from her church. Her greatest gift of all was the love and time she always gave to her family. She was a great listener.

She is survived by her children Sondra Sawyer and Donna Gravois and husband Jimmy Gravois. She is also survived by her grandchildren Miriah Laviolette, husband Todd, Brenden Gravois, Jonathan Gravois, wife CC, and Ty Boudreaux. Her great grandchildren are Gaven, Jace, and MaKenna Laviolette.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents Hubert and Louise Evans, and one brother Leo Charles Evans.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Michelle Menard and the staff of Bridgeway Hospice for the excellent care given to our mother.
