New Iberia ~ Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Jeanis Morgan, age 82, will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Alexander Albert serving as officiant. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation for Mrs. Morgan will begin Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 9:00AM until time of service.
Mrs. Morgan was born on Tuesday, September 18, 1934 in Crowley, LA. and passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at her residence in New Iberia, LA. Mrs. Morgan called New Iberia home for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church of New Iberia and reared her children with the same Christian values. She worked for 30 years with Bell South/AT&T as a frame attendant. She loved gardening and furniture restoration. Mrs. Morgan loved her family deeply and cherished every minute spent with them. She was affectionately known as “Gran” to her Grandchildren that she deeply loved.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Mr. Leonce C. Jeanis; Mother, the former Miss Lula McBride; her Siblings, Wilfred Jeanis, Wilson Jeanis, Frank Jeanis, Leo Jeanis, Harry Richard Eloise Brewer and Bernice Wright.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her Daughters, Debra Gautreau and husband Tim of New Iberia, Sherri Champagne of New Iberia, Vicki Smith and husband Keith of Mandeville; her Son, Steven R. Morgan of New Iberia; Grandchildren, Ryan Champagne and wife Tabitha, of Gilbert, AZ, Matthew Gautreau of New Iberia, Brian Smith of Atlanta, GA, Lucas Gautreau and wife Jordan of New Iberia, Justin Morgan and wife Kimberly of Abbeville, Christopher Smith of Mandeville; Great Grandchildren, Jordan Morgan of Abbeville, and Kaylin Champagne, Noah Champagne and Blake Champagne all of Gilbert, AZ.
Serving the honor of Pallbearer will be Matthew Gautreau, Lucas Gautreau, Ryan Champagne, Justin Morgan, Brian Smith and Jack Paul Romero.
The family of Mrs. Morgan would like to extend a very Special Thank You to her caregiver Mrs. Barbara Dominic.
