New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Jerry Loraine Grafton Guidry, 86, on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Denton, Pastor of Highland Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 17, 2016, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

A native of Norphlet, Arkansas, a resident of Broussard and a former resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Guidry passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016, at 7:00 PM at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home.

She was a member of Highland Baptist Church, a volunteer Candy Striper at Iberia Medical Center and a Poet who wrote many poems. She was known as the “Praline Queen”, her pralines were extra ordinary. He dog was her constant companion whom she loved very much. She had a soft spot in her heart for the under privileged in missions and orphanages overseas.

She is survived by her step-daughters, Donna Rene Little of Lake Charles, Charlene Woodall of Orinda, CA and Terry Gale Olivier of Eunice; her step-son, Victor Guidry of Payullup, WA; her cousin, Gayle Henderson and her husband Jay of Lafayette; her nieces, Jean McSpadden of Mahauk, TX and Kay Jenks of Spring, TX; her nephew, Ken DuBose of Austin, TX and several Step-grandchildren, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rene E. Guidry; her parents, Eloy E. Grafton and Lucy Price Grafton; her sisters, Sarah DuBose and Carol Loy Bell and her niece, Janet Bell.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Jenkins, David Scroggins, Jay Henderson, Don McSpadden and Keith White.
