Yvonne Bingham

New Iberia - Funeral Services for Yvonne Hazleton Bingham, age 90, will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at 1:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, New Iberia with Rev. Charles Langlois as Celebrant. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 7:00 PM with Deacon Wade Broussard in the funeral home. Yvonne passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016.

Mrs. Bingham was a native of St. Landry, LA (Evangeline Parish) and a resident of New Iberia, LA. She worked in the family business, Bing’s Office Supply for 40 years with her husband and sons Kenneth and Dennis Bingham.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Shadows on the Teche, Iberia Community Concert Association, Altrusian Club, Iberia Chapter of the AARP and a volunteer at St. Peter’s Church.

She enjoyed playing golf with her husband and many friends. She also enjoyed going to Broadway plays in New Orleans and local concerts such as the Iberia Community Band and bus trips with Norma. Some of her most enjoyable times were working with her husband and sons, and on trips with her husband in the United States and abroad. Enjoyable times were also in later years at Azalea Estates Assisted Living with many friends such as Carolyn Lewald and many others. She was also known for her prolific note writing ability.

Yvonne was survived by her sons Kenneth C. Bingham and wife Joan of New Iberia and Dennis H. Bingham and wife Sarah of New Iberia; grandchildren Brent Michael Bingham and wife Gina, Claire B. Knight and fiancée Grady McMath and Brooke B. Odom and husband Michael; great-grandchildren, Ashley Ryan Schleich, Lillian Yvonne Knight, Joseph Hugh Knight, Martha Elizabeth Odom, Margaret Ellen Odom, Patrick Wallace Bingham and Constance Marie Zaragaza.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clinton Curtis Bingham; parents H. Hugh Hazleton and the former Emma Helmer; sisters Wilda H. Chandler and Bertha Cecilia Hazleton; brothers Leonard Norwood Hazleton and Herman Hugh Hazleton

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at David Funeral Home and will continue on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth C. Bingham, Dennis H. Bingham, Brent M. Bingham, Michael Odom, Joseph Knight and Ashley Schleich.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in her honor to St. Peter’s Catholic Church Choir, 108 E. St. Peters Street, New Iberia, LA 70560.
