NEW IBERIA, La. – Funeral services for Therese Dugas, 92, of Lafayette, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 in the David Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Loreauville. The Rev. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette and the Rev. Keith Landry, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate. Visitation will be observed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2016 at David Funeral Home with a recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m.

A native of Loreauville and longtime resident of New Iberia, Therese died peacefully just before 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18 at her home in Lafayette surrounded by family. She is survived by a daughter, Elaine C. Badeaux of Lafayette; a granddaughter, Tracie Badeaux of Lafayette; a grandson, Trevis R. Badeaux and his wife, Jenny, and their sons, Isaac and Zachary Badeaux, all of Lafayette; a sister, Joyce Stein of New Iberia; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; her parents, Armand and Corrine Dugas; sisters, Emma Dugas, Estelle Dugas and Stella Delcambre; brother, Antoine “Tony” Dugas; and her beloved son-in-law, Raymond F. Badeaux.

Pallbearers will be Trevis R. Badeaux, Kenneth Delcambre, Richard Stein, Barney Gonsoulin, James Stein and Terry Trahan. Honorary pallbearers include Lorriane “Tootie” Trahan, Carol Trahan, Isaac Badeaux and Zachary Badeaux.

The family would like to especially thank caregivers Leola Celestine and Ida Hill for their love, affection and support. Also, the family would like to thank Nursing Specialties Home Health & Hospice, especially nurse Christine.
