Keith Sonnier

Jeanerette – Funeral services will be conducted for Keith Anthony Sonnier, 56, on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM and a rosary will prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:00 PM.

A native of Abbeville and a resident of Lafayette, Keith passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 1:05 AM at his residence. He owned and operated Keith’s Ballroom in Broussard, LA. His passion was cooking, floral arrangements, associating with people and traveling.

He is survived by his mother, Verna Sonnier; his sister, Donna S. Guillotte and her husband Richard; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Sonnier; his nephews, Tyler M. Sonnier and Jace Guillotte all of Jeanerette; his godchild, Jill Derouen and her husband Jeff Derouen of New Iberia and his great nieces, Amelia and Elise Derouen of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Neuville J. Sonnier; his brother, Mark E. Sonnier; his maternal grandparents, Maurice and Helen Guilbert and Odey Dubois and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Katherine Sonnier.

Pallbearers will be Tyler M. Sonnier, Jace Guillotte, Richard Guillotte, Nathan Dubois, Bradley Daigle and C. J. Romero.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Derouen, Vickie Duhon and Josephine Alfred.
