Caroline Domingue Verrett Gerard

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Caroline Domingue Verrett Gerard, 71, at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aaron Weido, Pastor of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at David Funeral Home at 1101 Trotter St. in New Iberia.

Born in Lafayette, Caroline was a resident of New Iberia and passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016, at her daughter’s residence.

She loved solving crossword puzzles, watching her favorite TV shows and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Verrett and his wife Monica of Breaux Bridge, Gerald Verrett and his wife Michelle and Sherman Verrett all of New Iberia; her daughter, Pamela Verrett Boutte and her husband Timmy of New Iberia; her step daughter, Erin Gerard; her sisters, Patricia Domingue Boutte of New Iberia; Retta Domingue Blanton of Bossier City; her half-brothers, Clarence “Pete” Domingue of New Iberia and Simon “Mac” Domingue of Alexandria; her half-sister, Viola Domingue Stevens of Jeanerette and Helen Domingue Ledoux of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Justin Boutte and his wife Kori, Tony Boutte and his wife Danielle, Blake Boutte, Corey Verrett, Jerry Verrett, Desiree Verrett Mclelland and her husband Tony, Taylor Serrette, Jordan Serrette, Hayden Serrette and Elise Gaspard; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Verrett; her husband, Kenneth Gerard; her parents, John Baptiste Dominque and Celina Postieo Domingue; her grandson, Dustin Verrett; her sister, Martha Domingue Green; her brothers, Robert Domingue, Edward Domingue and Lawrence Domingue; her half-brother, William Horton; two half-brothers and four half-sisters.

Pallbearers will be Justin Boutte, Tony Boutte, Gerald Verrett, Sherman Verrett, Jerry Verrett and Corey Verrett.

Honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Boudreaux.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ramsey, Dr. Kitakule, Concepts of Care Home Health of Vermilion and Heart of Hospice.
