Edward Olander

New Iberia - A service of Christian burial will be held for Mr. Edward Olander, age 82, on Wednesday, January 11,2017 at 11:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend  Thomas Olander officiating the service. Interment will follow in St. Helens Cemetery in Florence.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 9:00 AM until  9:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

Mr. Edward was born in Weeks Island and resided in Cypremort Point. After high school he would enter the Army where he proudly served the country that he loved.  Following the military, Mr. Olander earned a living as a commercial fisherman and  he loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Broussard Olander of Cypremort Point, his daughter Monica Borel and her husband Gerald of New Iberia, daughter Barbara Olander of McComb, MS., daughter Laura Mondor and husband Henry of Cypremort  Point,  son Douglas Olander and his wife Chrystel of Port  of West St. Mary, daughter Sandra Haycock of Loreauville, son David Olander of Cypremort Point, daughter Candace Robicheaux and her companion Elroy Boutte of New Iberia, sister Dorothy O. Romero of Youngsville, his grandchildren, Christopher Olander of McComb, MS., Whitney Viator of Lafayette, Lance Haycock of Abbeville, Corey Olander of Cypremort Point, Derek Migues of McComb, MS., Seth Olander of Cypremort Point, Brittany Haycock of Loreauville, Bryce Haycock of Loreauville, and Catelyn Boutte of New Iberia.

He is preceded in death by his father  Andrew "Andy" Olander Sr., his mother, Frances Rolkosky Olander, brothers Leo Olander, Sylvester Olander,  Steve Olander, and  Andrew Olander Jr., his sisters, Helen O. Roy, Elizabeth O. Rawlins, Alberta O. Borel, Rita Mae O. Simon, and  Eleanora O. Hartman.

Upholding the honor of pallbearers will be Douglas Olander, David Olander, Christopher Olander, Lance Haycock, Corey Olander, Derek Migues, and Seth Olander.  The honorary pallbearers will be Roland Olander, Gerald Borel,and  Elroy Boutte.
