Rosie Mae Louviere

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Rosie Mae Broussard Louviere, 96, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Landry Officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

Born in Henry and residing in New Iberia, Mrs. Louviere passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2017, at 3:38 AM at her residence.

She was a former member of the PTA at Hopkins Elementary School where she was the first Cub Scout Den Mother for Hopkins Elementary School and a member of the St. Anne’s Altar Society at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She worked with the Iberia Baseball Association and played numerous sports at Henry High School, especially basketball.

She is survived by her sons, Murphy Boyd Louviere of Gilettte, Wyoming, Glynn Ray Louviere of Sarasota, FL and Geary P. Louviere of New Iberia; her step-son, Don Louviere of New Iberia; her step-daughter, Bonnie L Miller of Mamou; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, eight step-grandchildren and fourteen step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Murphy Paul Louviere; her parents, Apolenair Broussard and Avia Mouton Broussard; her brothers, Claude Broussard, Lyanake Broussard, Charlie Broussard and Lenis Broussard and her sisters, LeBelle Thibodeaux, Rose Mary Simoneaux, Ledia Schexnayder and Urcille Landry.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Ray Louviere, Logan Ray Louviere, Donald Gary, Ryne Shae Maturin, Mark Landry and Steve Patrick Latiolais.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Carriere and Ronald Gary.
