Horace Choate

Jeanerette – Funeral services will be conducted for Horace Choate known as “Choate”, 64, on Friday, January 27, 2017, at 12:00 PM at David Funeral Home with Dr. James Hodges, Senior Pastor Word Ministries International officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of service.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Jeanerette, Choate passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Iberia Medical Center. He was for many years a fitter/welder as a boat fabricator at the Port of Iberia with Gulf Craft, Superior and McDermott. He enjoyed fishing, camping, barbeque with family and friends and crab boils. Spending time with his wife and family was his passion.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary D. Choate; daughter, Mary Dupre and husband Jason of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Amber Anderson, Brittany Charpentier, Zachary Dupre, Noah Dupre and Aidan Dupre; great-grandchildren, Kaden , Lilly, Micah and Isaiah Anderson and Mariah Dupre.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace W. Choate and the former Harriet Trimble; son, Horace Choate, Jr; sister, Rose Landry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Dupre, Zachary Dupre, Noah Dupre, Freddie Genest, Lawrence Broussard, Mary Dupre, Amber Anderson and Brittany Charpentier.
