Beryl Kern Bonin

Jeanerette – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Beryl Kern Bonin, 81, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Randall Moreau, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Mermentau and Concelebrant Rev. Jody Simoneaux, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Jeanerette officiating. Entombment will follow in the St. John the Evangelist Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and will resume on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 8:00 AM until services. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 6:30 PM,

Beryl was a lifelong resident of Jeanerette. She died peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence in Jeanerette on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 7:40 PM. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Dr. Francis J. Bonin of Jeanerette; six children, Thomas Bonin and wife Danette of Loreauville, John Bonin and wife Judy of Maurice, Sr. Theresa Joseph Bonin O.P. of Nashville, TN, Catherine Herring and husband Russell of Loreauville, Francine Bonin of Jeanerette and Renee Bonin of New Iberia; seven grandchildren, Caroline Myers, Adrien and Magdalen Bonin of Lafayette, Emily and Camille Bonin and Grace Herring of Loreauville and Andre’ Bonin of Maurice, her sister Audrey Kern and her son-in-law Anthony Myers of Lafayette.

Mrs. Bonin was preceded in death by her daughter Claire Bonin Myers, her sister Marion Bergeron, her brother Merlin Kern, Sr. and her parents Sidney Kern and Gertrude Alleman Kern.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Bonin, John Bonin, Russell Herring, Thomas Gary, Anthony Myers and Leigh McGowen.
