Michael Allen Duncan

New Iberia – Funeral Services for Michael Allen Duncan, 56, will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, March 17, 2017 at David Funeral Chapel of New Iberia with Rev. Chester Hill and Rev. Wesley Jackson officiating.  Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 10:00AM until the time of the services.

A native of Jerseyville, IL and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Duncan died at 9:40PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Heritage Manor South Nursing Center.  He was known for his love for the outdoors, fishing, rhyming, and being with friends.  He was also known for his love for his church.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Bessie Guillotte Duncan of New Iberia; a daughter, Virginia Duncan Manley of Wood River, IL; three brothers, Carl Louis Duncan, Jr. of Dow, IL, Ray Eugene Duncan of Springfield, IL, and Roger Gale Duncan of New Iberia; two sisters, Brenda Barthelemy of New Iberia, and Margaret Hill of Troy, MO; and two grandchildren, Aava Mouenstermann and Ayden Mouenstermann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Louis Duncan, Sr. and Anna Mae DeSherlia Duncan; and three sisters, Charlene Duncan, Marlene Duncan, and Barbara Rock.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Gale Duncan, Brayton Carl Duncan, Chase Barthelemy, William “Ken” Rich, III., Hubert “Butch” Guillotte, and Charles “Joe” Barthelemy.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Carl Louis Duncan, Jr. and Dorothy Rich.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jennifer Segura Nugent and the staff at Bridgeway Hospice for their compassion and care to Mr. Duncan.
