Lafayette – Funeral services for Glenn W. Trahan, 51, will be held Wednesday April 5, 2017 at 5:00 PM in David Funeral Home with Keith Duhon, Deacon of Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic  Church, officiating

Raised on a farm in Maurice, Glenn was a Cajun country boy at heart whom you never saw without his blue jeans and cowboy boots. Glenn enjoyed raising animals, particularly horses and dogs, and he knew the value of a hard day’s work. He had a kind heart and went out of his way to help whomever was in need. He was a true Cajun cook who knew how to boucherie a pig, make boudin and sausage from scratch, and boil delicious crawfish. Glenn was always the life of the party and never met a person he didn’t know. His presence filled the room, and his family and friends will sorely miss him.
When Glenn wasn’t working outdoors, he was a professional machinist at Specialty Machine Shop in Scott and Halliburton. Glenn died after a brief illness surrounded by his family on Monday, April 3, 2017.

Glenn is survived by his sons Jake R. Trahan and his wife Blakely of Lafayette, LA, Ty and his significant other Kaitlyn Moody of Lafayette, LA; one daughter Alysse Trahan of Maurice, LA; grandchildren Ella, Owen, and Anna Clare; parents Ruby Dean Cormier Hebert and Raywood J. Trahan both of Youngsville, LA; siblings Todd J. of Youngsville, LA, Monica and her husband Dean Abshire of Youngsville, and John Ray and his wife Tanya of Duson, as well as many godchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Edvard and Edith Touchet Trahan and Nelson and Ida T. Spell Cormier; his aunts Betty Lou Arabie, Patsy Boudreaux, and Ethel Bodin, and his uncle Chester Trahan and stepfather Warren Hebert.
