Pauline Guidry

May 10, 1956 — April 4, 2017

Pauline Breaux Guidry died on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from complications of ovarian cancer which was diagnosed in January of 2014. She fought a tough battle knowing that her death would affect many people. She lived 19 days without food and very little water. She left all of us a beautiful gift by letting us know that she had seen Heaven.

On Friday, April 7, 2017, a viewing will be held at David’s Funeral Home in Loreauville, Louisiana from 9:00 AM and will continue on Saturday morning from 8:00 AM until the time of service. A memorial mass will be celebrated by Fr. Buddy Breaux at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 11:30 AM with burial in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A luncheon reception will be held at St. Teresa’s Hall immediately following the service.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday at David's Funeral Home.

Pauline was born to Margaret Verret Breaux and Sidney Breaux on May 10, 1956. Pauline exemplified kindness. She devoted most of her life caring for others, especially her younger brother, Craig. Pauline loved her son, Lane, her siblings, her nieces and nephews, her cousins and her friends. She also loved animals, especially her little dog, Blaze, who never left her side during the last weeks of her life. One of Pauline’s greatest pleasures was getting up early on Saturday morning and going to garage sales. A Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans and everything that went with it was one of her few trips that she looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed!!

Pauline is survived by her son, Lane Michael Guidry of New Orleans, her siblings, Dale (Priscilla) Breaux of Delcambre, Janice (Sam) Stacy of Houston, Teetie ( Paul) Stephens of New Iberia and Craig Breaux of Loreauville. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Ryan (Joetta) Stephens and their sons, Cade and Beau of New Braunfels, Texas, John (Amber) Stephens of Slidell, Christina (Rickey) Cessac and her daughter, Sydney Claire LeBlanc of Erath and Duane Armentor of New Iberia. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Sidney Breaux, Jr. and Barry John Breaux.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Stephens, John Stephens, Patrick Esfeller, Sam Stacy, Paul Stephens and Kevin Gondron.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great nephews and niece, Cade Stephens, Sydney Claire LeBlanc and Beau Stephens, and Brock Romero.

Pauline retired from Iberia Parish School as a Cafeteria Worker and also After School Day Care at Daspit Elementary. She also worked many years at Tiger Inn in Loreauville.
