Fred Mayeux

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Fred Mayeux, 81, on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 11:00 AM at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Men’s Rosary Group. Military Honors will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service.

A native of Plaucheville and a resident of New Iberia, Fred went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 2:15 PM at a local nursing facility. He was a Supervisor for 30 years with the Shell Petroleum and an avid golfer. He also was a U.S. Army veteran in Germany and the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his son, Jason John Mayeux of New Iberia; seven siblings, Gloria Plauche, Marlene Strode, James Mayeux, Lou Anna Evans, Janis Goudeau, John Ned Mayeux and Sandra Ann Dours; many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Barbara Elgian Mayeux; father, Curley P. Mayeux; mother, Beatrice Dufour Mayeux; brother, Clyde Mayeux.
