Lafayette – A celebration of the life of Charles Alexander Sinclair, 100, will be held at a later date.
Mr. Sinclair was born in Baldwin Louisiana on December 13, 1916, he was a resident of Lafayette; he passed away Tuesday June 6, 2017 at Cornerstone Village South. After the death of his father at a very early age and during the depression Charles went to work doing various jobs, selling vegetables, cutting sugar cane, working at the sugar mill, during WWII he joined the US Army, and after being discharged, he went work for the Bank of St. Francisville, he then went on to business school upon completion went on to work Humble Oil /Exxon until his retirement.
Survivors include his two sons John C and his wife Diane L. Sinclair of Summerville, SC, and Jamie F. and his wife Betty Sinclair of Magnolia Texas; his grandchildren Daniel and Nathan Sinclair of Summerville, SC, Frank and Hollie Sinclair both of the Lafayette area, and Charles Sinclair all of Crystal Beach, TX; five great grandchildren; his brother –in- law James B. Easterling; and nephew Phillip Easterling, both of Houston Texas.
Mr. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Abbie Hornsby Sinclair; his parents James Allen and Eula Packard Sinclair.
