Rita Louviere Lancon

Jeanerette – Funeral services will be conducted for Rita Louviere Lancon, 90, on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 2:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 26, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM and a rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 11:00 AM.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Lancon passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 10:44 PM in a Lafayette hospital.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and nurturing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Glenda Laughlin and her husband Richard of Lafayette, Lionel A. Lancon, Jr. and his wife Jane of Jeanerette, Denise Landry and her husband James of Covington and Laurie Calcote and her husband Mike of Lafayette; her brother, Roy Louviere of Lufkin, TX; her grandchildren, Nora Pereira, Sheri Daye, Zachary Leathem, Rebecca Laughlin, Miranda Michael, Jennifer Brown, Misty Maturin, Nicole Landry and Evan Calcote and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel A. Lancon, Sr.; her parents, Elie and Constance Derise Louviere;  her brothers, Dennis Louviere, Charles Louviere and David Louviere; her sister, Mary Mire and her grandson, Michael Craig Leathem, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Mike Calcote, Evan Calcote, Tommy Louviere, David Louviere, Aaron Laughlin and Zach Leathem.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Daye and Tim LeBlanc.

The family would like to invite family and friends for refreshments and fellowship at the Jeanerette Veterans Association Hall.
