Joseph L. Bodoin

Lafayette – Memorial services for Joseph Leroy “Papa Joe” Bodoin, 82, will be held Saturday July 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating.

Visitation will be held Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Lafayette and a resident of Broussard, Papa Joe retired from the US Air Force. He passed away Thursday June 22, 2017 at his son’s residence surrounded by his family.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Sonnier Bodoin of Broussard; three sons Eric Bodoin, Kirk and his wife Kim Bodoin, and Kevin and his wife Joanne Bodoin; two sisters Thelma Terrebonne, and Leola Broussard; thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons Brent, Alvin, and Mitchell Bodoin; his parents Gerard and Evangeline Tavenay Bodoin and also the mom that raised him, Ella Bodoin; one brother George Bodoin; sister Julie Lyons; step sister Evelyn Cheramie; and step brother Duris Richard.
