Lafayette – Victoria Lynn Landry, 2, was granted her angel wings on June 19, 2017, following a life full of battles. Her final moments were spent surrounded by Mommy, Gigi, and many friends that Victoria has touched in some way throughout her very memorable life.
Funeral services were held Saturday July 1, 2017 at the Lafayette Campus of Our Saviors Church.
Victoria’s life would seem too short to many, but those who met her understood the quality of existence far exceeds the quality of time in which one lives. Her contagious smile could melt the heart of anyone. Although Victoria couldn’t speak she was learning new sign language daily.
Each day with Victoria was a blessing and opportunity to create lasting memories. Victoria loved music, dancing, Elmo, and bubble guppies. She loved throwing boogers, waving bye Felicia and trying on bows with Nurse Rick. Victoria could spend hours listening to mommy read books to her; she loved her purple blanket (lovey). She enjoyed spending time with nurses Rick, Anton, and respiratory therapist Heather.
She is survived by her mommy Tabitha Landry; her maternal grandparents Troy and Amanda “Gigi” Landry; maternal great grandfather D. J. Fournerat and his girlfriend Lisa; maternal great grandparents Raymond and Joyce Landry; her uncle Trevor Landry and his girlfriend Kaitlyn; she is also survived by her boyfriend nurse Anton Ascanio; and her best friends Ella Grace and Kyra Owens . She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandmother Mary Fournerat
Victoria’s life is one to be celebrated. Throughout her life we were able to make wonderful memories. It was a privilege to be her mommy. Victoria leaves behind many wonderful caregivers at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans and Children’s Hospital of Boston.
The family would like to give special thank you to Nurse Liz. DeAnne who without her we would not have been able to spend these two years with her, Dr Carlo Buno and his staff for going beyond to make sure Victoria was safe, also Acadian Ambulance, Scott K/C for taking Victoria under their wing. New Orleans PICU and 6th floor for caring so much for Victoria, Boston Children’s Hospital for doing everything possible to save Victoria.
