New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Viola Monceaux Holland, 95, on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Harrington as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery in Youngsville.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM at David Funeral Home in New Iberia. A praying of the Rosary will be held in the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Viola went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 4:58 PM in the home where she was born. She was a Manager of the Rosary House for over 40 years.
She is survived by her sister, Neola Chatman of Broussard and nephew Cecil Chatman of New Iberia; a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Lloyd Holland; father, Jules Monceaux; mother, Edith Bendeaux; brother, Jacob Monceaux; sisters, Iola Broussard, Donatile Lopez, Enola LeJeune, Agnes Golden and Mary Lou Doucet.
Pallbearers will be Dudley LeJeune, Irving Doucet, John Chatman, John Mouton, Elvin Carluen and Lennie Dartez.
