Timothy Jude Barras

Lafayette – Funeral Services for Mr. Timothy Jude Barras, 59, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Calvary Pentecostal Church of Jeanerette with Rev. James Wesley Jackson officiating.  Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM.  Visitation will resume on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Calvary Pentecostal Church of Jeanerette from 10:00AM until the time of the services.

A native and resident of Lafayette Mr. Barras died at 7:05AM on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Lafayette.  Mr. Barras had a devoted love for God and the church.  He frequently worked behind the scene at church functions, and was always an asset when he was involved.   Tim was employed by Owen Oil Tools and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.  However, being with his grandchildren surpassed all other enjoyments.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kelly Sutton Barras of Lafayette; His father, Kerner Barras of Erath; his mother, Earline Delahoussaye  of Youngsville; a son, Joshua Jude Barras of Lafayette; a daughter, Robyn Ashley Wells and her husband Joshua of Youngsville; three grandchildren, Poet Wells, Pollux Wells, and Atlas Wells; four brothers, Tracy Barras, Trent Delahoussaye, Ryan Barras, and Arthur Robin Barras; three sisters, Tina Barras, Twila Hernandez, and Tynia Darbonne; his father in law, ElRay Sutton; and his mother in law, Susan Howe.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Barras.

Serving as pallbearers will members of his friends and family.
