Robert Lee Romero

Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Robert Lee Romero, 66 will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with Fr. Jason Mouton officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 9:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM and will resume at 8:00AM on Monday, July 31, 2017 until the time of service.

A native and lifelong resident of Youngsville, Mr. Romero passed away at 12:45PM on Wednesday July 26, 2017 at his residence. He enjoyed watching baseball, going to the casino, and dancing. He will be fondly remembered for the great love he had for his accordion, his passion for going to church, and for being a people person as everyone Robert Lee encountered was a friend. He will be greatly missed among all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sister, Audrey Gonzales Troy and her husband James Troy of Youngsville; a brother, Donald Romero and his wife Anna Lou Romero of Milton; an adopted grandmother, Rita G. Troy of Youngsville; and his special cousin, Phyllis Gonzales of Youngsville.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Regina Gonzales Romero; his father, Estaus “Bello” Romero; and his sister, Laura Mae Romero.

Pallbearers will be L.J. Gonzales, Larry Touchet Sr., Clarence Troy, Paul Savoie, Shawn Bergeron, and Michael Gonzales.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vincent Troy Jr., Donald Romero, and Russell Troy.
