Mark Douglas Speyrer

Lafayette – Funeral services for Mr. Mark Douglas Speyrer, 28, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gabe officiating. Interment will be held privately.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 1:00PM until 8:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 8:00AM until the time of services.

A lifelong resident of Youngsville, LA, Mark passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017. Mark had many enjoyments throughout his lifetime, from entertaining his friends and family, to cooking, watching UFC and his LSU tigers, and any other sport possible. But above all else, his biggest enjoyment in life was being a Daddy to his three beautiful children. A daddy, who no less loved and adored them more than anything in the world. He will be remembered for his amazing stories and witty charm, but more so for the smiles and laughter he brought to everyone that was in his presence. He will always be within the hearts and minds of all who knew him, for all though he is gone his memory and legacy continue to live on.  He will be remembered as a caring husband, devoted father, loving son and brother, best friend, and with this he will never be truly gone for it’s in their memories he lives on.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife and high school sweetheart, Melanie Speyrer;  his three children, Malorie Paige-Lynn Speyrer, Easton Edward Speyrer, and Wesley Douglas Speyrer; his father, Eddie Speyer of Youngsville; mother, Kimberly Speyrer of Youngsville; maternal grandparents, Jimmie and Ronald Blair of Oklahoma City, OK; a brother, Gabriel Speyrer; his two sisters, Melinda Fruge and her husband Lawrence Fruge of Moss Bluff and Allianna Speyrer; a sister-in-law, Kallie Benoit and her fiancé Patrick Sonnier of Delcambre;  two nephews, Wyatt Fruge and Nathan Benoit; two nieces, Scarlett Rose Fruge and Hadlie Benoit ; mother-in-law, Desiree Harris of Erath; and father-in-law, Boyd Weeks and his wife Kathy of Lake Charles.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lloyd Sr. and Dessi Speyrer.
