Richard Dale Trahan

Youngsville - Funeral Services for Mr. Richard Dale Trahan, 59, will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at David Funeral Chapel of Lafayette with Deacon Keith Duhon officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM.  Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 8:00AM until 11:00AM at the time of the services.

A native of Abbeville and a resident Youngsville, Mr. Trahan died at 2:15AM on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at his residence after a brief battle with cancer. He was  surrounded by his family and his two loving dogs, Bully and Chico who never left his side.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at his camp.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patrice LaBiche Trahan of Youngsville; a daughter, Lori Beth Trahan Prince and her husband Daniel of Youngsville; five brothers, James Trahan, Glen Trahan, Shelly Trahan, Ronald Trahan, and Tony Trahan; four sisters, Anna Mae Broussard, Fredia Jones, Dianna Broussard, and Cindy Laviolette; three grandchildren, Carson Prince, Connor Prince, and Reese Prince; and his father in law, Harold J. LaBiche, I.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Gladys Comeaux Trahan; three brothers, Buddy Trahan, Randall Trahan, and Brent Trahan; two sisters, Deborah Delcambre and Theresa Trahan, his mother in law, Rita LaBiche, his step-mother-in-law Donna LaBiche and a nephew, Ryan Granger, I.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Prince, Peter Granger, Jacob Roche, Ray Kovacs, Troy Trahan, and Crystal Suire.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Michael Latiolais, Brian Campbell, and Joey LaBiche.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
