Georgia Renard Johnson

New Iberia – Funeral Services will be conducted for Georgia Renard Johnson, 88, at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Bill Melancon officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 8:00 AM until the time of service.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia Mrs. Johnson passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 11:07 PM in a New Iberia nursing home.

She enjoyed reading, listening to music, gardening and dancing. She was a giving person and would provide care packages to those in need. She loved her family especially her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great grandchild.

She is survived by her children, Gerleene Johnson of Baton Rouge, Brenda Johnson Allingham of New Iberia, Darrel Johnson of North Port, FL, Ross Johnson and his wife Blanca of Laplace and Todd Johnson; her sisters, Verna Romero of Coteau and Earline Farris of New Iberia; her  brother, Leffery Renard of St. Martinville; her grandchildren, Amy Broussard, Adam Young, Brooke Young, Brandon Young, Kirsten Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Nicolas Johnson,  Austin Johnson, Scotty Gachassin, Joey Gachassin, Shanan Mathew Bourque, Aaron Johnson and Darryan Johnson; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alex Johnson; her parents, Louis Renard and Beulah Steen Renard; her daughter, Derleene Johnson and her sister, Lois Broussard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scotty Gachassin, Joey Gachassin, Seth Gachassin, Ian Gachassin, Austin Johnson and Nicolas Johnson.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ross Johnson, Shanan Mathew Bourque and Brandon Young.
