Ruby "Tootsie" Lajaunie

Jeanerette – Funeral services for Ruby “Tootsie” Mary Bouy LaJaunie will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM at David Funeral Home with Rev. Jody Simoneaux as Celebrant with burial to follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of service in the funeral home.

Ruby "Tootsie" Mary Bouy LaJaunie died peacefully in Florida on August 9, 2017 at the age of 81.

Tootsie was born on August 22, 1935 in Jeanerette, Louisiana. She graduated from Jeanerette High School in 1954. She married the love of her life Joseph LaJaunie in 1958. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the Rapides Parish School Board in Boyce, Louisiana. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending her time with her three cats, beloved Mikey, Gracelynn, and Precious.

Tootsie is survived by her children: Beth LaJaunie Kramer and husband Wayne of Pace, FL, Dana LaJaunie Meilleur and husband Danny of Madison, AL, and Eric LaJaunie and wife Juanita of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren: Nicole Kramer Bowman and husband Ryan of Cantonment, FL, Jennifer Meilleur Larrabee and husband Alessio of Red Bluff, CA, Victoria Meilleur of Madison, AL, Karlie LaJaunie Bordelon and husband Zach of Lake Charles, LA, Rebecca Meilleur Perry and husband Justin of Huntsville, AL, and Krista LaJaunie of Lake Charles, LA; and great-grandchildren Catherine Larrabee and Anastasia Larrabee.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph Van LaJaunie, and her parents Edward Paul Bouy and Ruby Mary Walker Bouy.
