Frances Smietana

New Iberia –A Celebration of Life Services for Frances Jean Savko Smietana, who went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Ramada Inn, 2915 Hwy 14, New Iberia.

On August 15, 2017, Frances Jean Savko Smietana, 80 years young, departed this earthly plain. Frances was a Life Master Bridge Player, played tennis and enjoyed gardening as well as an avid traveler for many years.

She is survived by her three dear children; David Wallace and his wife Diane, Laura Smietana Chaisson and Lynn Smietana Trulen and a beloved Aunt Rosaline Hopkins of Largo, Florida. . Also left to grieve are sister Patricia Wolf of Ohio and brother John Savko of Florida. Her life was enriched by eight grandchildren, Jonathan Wallace and his wife Kristina, Rachel Wallace Nelson and her husband Chris, Cheryl Chaisson, Morgan Trulen, Megan Trulen, Jake Wallace, Molly Trulen and Caroline Wallace; five vibrant great-grandchildren, Chloe, Callie and Charlie Wallace, Alexandria and Kathyrn Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, John Smietana and her parents, John F. Savko and Mary Hopkins Ditzenberger.

At Jean’s direction, her ashes will be scattered at sea.
