Wilda Borel Naquin

New Iberia- Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilda Borel Naquin, 89, on Monday September 25, 2017, at 11:00 AM at David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nolan Borel, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume on Monday September 25, 2017 at 8:00 AM until services.

A native of St. Mary Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Wilda passed away on September 21, 2017 at 9:50 AM at The Carpenter House in Lafayette. She loved cooking especially Sunday dinner, sewing/crafts, reading, traveling, and tending to her family especially her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Louisiana Volunteer for Family and Community (formerly known as the Homemakers Council) for 51 years. She served as a volunteer for 31 years at Iberia Medical Center Volunteers as a Pink Lady, and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 365.

She is survived by her son, Howard P Naquin II and his wife Sheree of Dripping Springs Tx., three daughters Sandra N. Landry and her husband Jerry of New Iberia, Monica N. Caulking and her husband Sammy of New Iberia, and Deanna N. Gaspard of New Iberia; a sister, Verna B. Eldridge of Youngsville; six grandchildren Heath Paul Naquin, Mandy Gaspard Armentor, Crissie Caulking Anderson, Nicholas Benjamin Naquin, Natalie Claire Naquin, and Mindy Lynn Gaspard; and her four great grandchildren Solaris A. Naquin, Emily C. Armentor, Finleigh M. Anderson, and Payton C. Anderson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard P. Naquin, Sr.; her parents Wilfred Borel, Sr. and Elda Sullivan Borel; and five brothers, WJ Borel, Wilfred Borel, Jr., Nolan Borel Sr., Vernice Borel, and Wilton Borel. â â

Pallbearers will be Jerry M. Landry, Samuel T. Caulking, Heath P. Naquin, Michael Anderson, Kenneth J. Borel, and Howard J. Eldridge.

Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Naquin, II and Nicholas Benjamin Naquin.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to, Iberia 4-H Foundation at 415 Providence Street New Iberia, La 70560; St. Francis Diner at Po. Box 9106 New Iberia, La 70562 ; and Iberia Medical Center (Pink Ladies Volunteer Organization) at 2315 â East Main Street New Iberia, La 70560.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia at 1101 Trotter St. (337-369-6336) will be handling the arrangements.
