New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Marguerite “Mugs” Clark Williams, 96, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

A native of Ridge, LA and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Williams passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017, at 1:45 PM at Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia.

She was a retired teacher with the Iberia Parish School Board. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota, Teachers Sorority, and the Our Lady Altar Society at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. She also loved to sing and was a member of the church choir and taught CCD for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Fitzpatrick and her husband Harvey (dec.) of Houston, TX, Madelyn Rice and her husband Randy of Lafayette and Janet Breard and her husband Herbert of Monroe; her son, Michael L. Williams and his wife Patty of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Franz Seidelhuber and his wife Kathiof San Carlos, CA, Elizabeth Seidelhuber of Lafayette, CA, Christy S. Page and her husband Jeremy of Eureka, CA, Elizabeth York and her husband Edward, Dr. Henry C. Foust, III and his wife Gretchen all of Houston, TX, Lauren Gary and her husband Chap, Katy Bunker and her husband Michael all of Lafayette, Charles Rice and his wife Elissa of Houston, TX, Major Herbert L. Breard, IV and his wife Jewal of Yorktown, VA, Leighton Breard of Monroe, Jessica Thibodaux, Marguerite PaigeJordan and her husband Paul all of New Iberia and forty-five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James N. Williams, Sr.; her parents, Dr. Michael L. Clark and SolangesDaboval Clark; her daughter, Sheila (Penny) W. Seidelhuber; her son, James (Jimmy) Williams, Jr.; her brother, Dr. Abner O. Clark and her sisters, Genevieve C. Dischler and Beatrice C. Zaunbrecher.

Pallbearers will be Michael L. Williams, Herbert Breard, III, Martin Zaunbrecher, Dr. F. M. Zaunbrecher, Dr. Henry C. Foust, III and Leighton Breard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Rice, Franz Seidelhuber, Major Herbert L. Breard, IV and Charles Rice
