Betty Joe Mestayer

Loreauville - Funeral Services will be conducted for Betty Hebert Mestayer, 75, on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Barry Crochet as Celebrant. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and will continue on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 8:00 AM until time of funeral services. Recitation of the Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 7:00 PM with the Men’s Rosary Group.

A native of Iota, LA and a resident of Loreauville, Betty went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 4:20 AM at Lafayette General Hospital. She was the true example of a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A lover of hummingbirds, flowers and gardening and shopping; she worked for the Patio for thirteen years and also Heritage Manor.

She is survived by her children. Charlene Bijeaux of Loreauville, John Mestayer and his wife Glenda of Coteau Holmes, Peggy Smith and her husband Daren of Loreauville, Stanley Mestayer and his wife Bonnie of Loreauville, Paul Mestayer and his wife Peggy of Loreauville and Terry Mestayer and his wife Lacey of Loreauville; eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Watts and her husband Bill of Fred, TX and Anita Whatley of Sulphur, LA; son-in-law, Raymond Patin and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Elkins Mestayer, parents, Hillary Hebert and Mary LeJeune Hebert; daughter, Susan Patin; brother, David Hebert and brother-in-law, William Whatley.

Pallbearers will be John Mestayer, Stanley Mestayer, Paul Mestayer, Terry Mestayer, Chet Mestayer and Charles Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Mestayer, Austin Mestayer, Clay Mestayer, Jacob Mestayer, Kyle Mestayer, Cody Mestayer, Grant Patin and Noah Smith.
