Eula Josephine Darby

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Eula Josephine Judice Darby, 97, at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Derise officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Friday, October 6, 2017, at 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 PM by the Men’s Rosary Group.

A native of Loreauville and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Darby passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at 11:33 PM at Consolata Nursing Home.

She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she served as a Sacristan, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Knights of Columbus Council 3425 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Busy Bees Homemakers Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Darby Breaux of Youngsville; her son, Larry John Darby and his wife Martha Lynn of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Shane Breaux and his wife Tara, Sheree Breaux all of Youngsville, Joan Darby Wallace and her husband Brandon of Lafayette and Paul Michael Darby and his wife Elizabeth of Crofton, MD and her great grandchildren, Darby Leah Breaux, Lillian Breaux, Elijah Breaux, Caroline Darby, Riley Wallace and Avery Wallace.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harold John Darby; her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Henry Judice; her brothers, Enoe Judice, Euphis Judice, Antoine Judice and Dumas Judice; her sisters, Stennie Weaver, Sister Dymphna Judice, Claudia Sonnier, Maria Leleux and Anne Hebert and her son-in-law, Johnny Breaux.

Pallbearers will be Joe Judice, Larry Darby, Shane Breaux, Ken Boullion, Alton Darby and Brandon Wallace.

Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Michael Darby.

The family request memorials to Heart of Hospice, 1100 Bertrand Dr. Lafayette, LA 70506.
