Bessie Case Landry
April 8, 1919 — October 6, 2017
New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Bessie Case Landry, 98, on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11:00AM at Assembly Christian Center, 4201 East Admiral Doyle Drive with Rev. Paul Neel officiating. Christian burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 9:30AM until the time of services.
Born in Sulphur LA, Bessie grew up in Bayou Chene and was a resident of New Iberia. She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star, enjoyed her collection of figurines, and drank from her demitasse cups. She was a lifetime member of the Assembly Christian Center church. Her family donated the lumber to build the church in the original location on Harriet Street. Dedicated to her Christian values, Bessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Arthur Landry and his wife Debbie of Jackson, MS, Anna Raye Seago and her husband John of Baton Rouge, Vickie Williamson and her husband Cliff of New Iberia, and Carolyn Boudreaux of Youngsville; eight grandchildren, Lorie Freiman and her husband Pete, Shea Landry, Andrew Landry and his wife Emily, James Seago, Jared Williamson and his wife Crystal, Lindsay Rivett and her husband Ryan, Brandon Boudreaux and his wife Sarah, and Alison Boudreaux; twelve great grandchildren, three sisters, Bernice Theriot, Fern Theriot and Joy Weathers.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Gilbert Francis Landry; parents, Jesse Case and Bertha Larson Case; step-mother Julia Daspit Case; the aunt and uncle who raised her, Arthur and Annie Fowler; grandson, John Seago, Jr; granddaughter, Stefenie Landry; siblings; Augusta Theriot, Ed Case, Jane Stockstill, Sarah Moss, Jesse Case, Jr. and Murphy Case.
Pallbearers will be James Seago, Brandon Boudreaux, Shea Landry, Jared Williamson, Andrew Landry, and Ryan Rivett.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to caregiver, Myra Anthony and the staff of Camelot of Broussard for the love and care which was given to their mother.
