John Clifton Douglas, Sr.

Abbeville – Funeral Services for Mr. John Clifton Douglas, Sr., 73, will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville with Rev. Albert Langley officiating.  Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 9:00AM until the time of the services.

A native of Brunswick, GA and a resident of Maurice, Mr. Douglas died at 2:10AM on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at his residence.  He retired from Noble Drilling after many years of working in the oil field industry.  John lived life to its fullest.  He enjoyed gathering with family and friends and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Charlotte Girouard Douglas of Maurice; two sons, John Clifton Douglas, Jr. of Denham Springs and Brian James Douglas of Hammond; a daughter, Diana “Dee Dee” Douglas of Livingston; a brother, Steve Douglas; six grandchildren, Shaun Douglas, Cody Douglas, Steven Douglas, Leland Douglas, Brennon Douglas, and Breanna Douglas; three great grandchildren, Taylor Douglas, Jayden Douglas, and Chase Douglas; the mother of his children, Sandra Pace; and his beloved pet, Oscar.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Nellie Taylor Douglas; two brothers, Virgil Douglas and Jimmy Douglas; and two sisters, Virginia Corbitt and Marie Douglas.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Clifton Douglas, Jr., Shaun Douglas, Cody Douglas, Brian Douglas, and Steven Douglas.
