New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Paul Camacho, Jr., 74, on Monday, October 23, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Francois Ste Marie, Associate Pastor as Celebrant. Military Honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 8:00 AM until services. A Recitation of the Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 7:00 PM by the Men’s Rosary Group.
A native of Gonzales, Texas and a resident of New Iberia, Paul went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Our Lady of the Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. He was a Supervisor and a fork lift operator with Cajun Sugar Co-Op for 20 years. Mr. Camacho was a Staff Sergeant in the Louisiana National Guard for 23 years and enjoyed his family, horse races, boxing and playing the lottery.
He is survived by his three sons, Paul Camacho, III of New Iberia, Corey J. Camacho and wife Shannon of New Iberia and Zachary P. Camacho of New Iberia; mother, Celia Trevina Camacho of Madisonville; three brothers, Michael Camacho and wife Lisa of New Iberia, Daniel Camacho and wife Beth of New Iberia and Lupe Camacho and wife Polly of New Iberia; five sisters, Gloria Bourque and husband Terry of New Iberia, Juanita Escuriex and husband Gervais of Branch, Celia Ann Patout and husband David of New Iberia, Rebecca Vercher and husband Michael of Madisonville, Anna Broussard husband William of New Iberia and Elizabeth Romero and husband Rusty of New Iberia; grandson, Tyler J. Camacho and wife Raven; great-granddaughter, Paisley L. Camacho and great-grandson, Bradley Camacho; he also leaves many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, JoAnn Harry Camacho; father, Paul R. Camacho, Sr.; brothers, Lee Roy Camacho, Andrew Camacho and Eugene Camacho.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Camacho, Michael Camacho, Lupe Camacho, Paul Camacho, III, Corey Camacho and Zachary Camacho.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler J. Camacho, Bradley J. Camacho and Justin Hebert.
