Genevieve Ball Bordelon

LAFAYETTE – A Funeral Mass for Genevieve Ball Bordelon, 78, will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Immaculate Conception church 4401 7th Street, Marrero, LA 70072.  Respects may be given 45 minutes prior to the mass.  Burial will take place immediately following the mass at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave. Gretna, LA 70056.  She passed away at 6:30 Tuesday morning November 7, 2017.

Genevieve, from New Orleans, resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Maurice and Mildred Ball. Genevieve retired from 32 years of service with BellSouth Corporation and had 10 years of service with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans.

Genevieve was not only a great mother to her three children but also was considered “Mom” by many. Her religious conviction and selfless devotion to her family gave her the strength to endure many hurdles of life including losing her home in hurricane Katrina.  Most valuable to her was her husband, kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Genevieve was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Owen Bordelon Jr and wife Bonnie., Cindy Zeller and fiancé Brad Hughes, Kevin Bordelon and wife Jacqueline and husband of 60 years Owen Bordelon Sr.; grandchildren George Zeller III and wife Amanda, Jennifer Galloway and husband Earl, Kayla Bordelon, Alexis Bordelon, Olivia Bordelon and Kyle Bordelon; great grandchildren, Micah Galloway, Allison Zeller, Peyton Galloway, George Zeller IV, and Kylan Galloway.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Maurice and Mildred Ball and brother; MJ Ball Jr.

Pallbearers will be Owen Bordelon Sr., Kevin Bordelon, George Zeller III, Earl and Peyton Galloway and Brad Hughes.
